CAUTION!

If you decide to get the professional carpet cleaners in and you are sensitive to or have some chemical or cleaning agent allergies, you may want to be somewhere else until the carpets have been cleaned, are fully dry and you have let some fresh air come in and circulate the house. Other than that, I have found my experience with the professionals to be great and well worth the time and effort.

Proper Carpet Cleaning in Homes!

With such and advance in tools and chemical technology, there's no reason for home owners to fear when cleaning their own carpets, providing they follow the instructions specifically. Some times our surfaces need a bit more care than that provided by a quick once over with the vacuum. You see, when we hoover our carpets, we’re only getting them superficially clean as all the real dirt, grime, living bugs, and bacteria are residing quite happily deep within the fabric. The disturbance from the everyday sucker above does little to rid the above. With a couple kids, 2 dogs and a cat, our carpets get filthy dirty over time, so proper home carpet cleaning is not an uncommon task in this household, and touch wood, we've not shrunk or faded any yet.

There are times too when all I need is a little washing. Perhaps something gets spilt or worse yet, we have a domestic accident. I always some carpet cleaning solution in the cupboard for such times. I simply spray on the solution, let it sit a while, scrub the stain a bit, and the mark’s vanished. I am also thinking about getting one of those spot removal carpet cleaning machines to help with scrubbing away some of the more stubborn spots and stains. Sometimes I think about getting wood type floors as they’re easier to wash and need less cleaning accessories but the wife does like her carpets.

After a while though, I find that my carpet needs a more thorough washing. Maybe the spill covered a large area or it has been a few months since the carpet has been really cleaned and I have had many spots and stains. Like many people, I have found it convenient to go and rent carpet cleaning machines . I usually go for the Rug Doctor to do my floor fabrics. The challenge always is to time my rental so I do the most shampooing in the time allotted. If my rental is 24 hours, then I really have overnight to do as much washing as possible.

If a job’s worth doing then it’s worth doing well. My trip top the Rug Doctor had me coming away with enough gear that no stone was to be left unturned now that I had made the decision and gone to the trouble of carpet cleaning. I came away with the correct protective clothing, and in addition to the usual carpet cleaning chemicals, I took with me some special cleaners and deodorizers to remove pet odours too.

I’m no expert though and no matter how many carpet cleaning supplies I have at my disposal, there are times where I have no choice but to call in the professionals. I personally put that off as much as possible, mainly because I really need to gut the rooms enough and move all the furniture out in preparation. When the experts do come to do the carpet cleaning, they achieve a great job. They give my carpet a wonderful deep cleaning. Once the carpet is clean, they return the furniture back for me to its rightful place, usually placing it on small foam blocks to preserve the carpet until it’s completely dried out.

I think it’s important to finish with a warning regarding the professional carpet cleaning companies and the chemicals they use to clean your fabrics. Many of these products are industrial strength and sometimes, some of the odours and fumes given out be by them can be a little overpowering at best, and may cause allergic reactions at worse. If in doubt, as the cleaners what chemical agents they will be using and their possible side affects.
